Mages

Mages is an encrypted chat client built for the Matrix communication network, operating on Linux systems. It enables users to connect to Matrix homeservers, join rooms, and exchange end-to-end encrypted messages with individuals or groups. The client maintains local message histories and provides interface tools for managing room memberships and user verification.

The layout organizes channels and direct messages in a sidebar while displaying conversation threads in the main window area. It implements the cryptographic protocols defined by the Matrix specification to ensure message privacy during transmission and storage. The software is distributed under the GNU Affero General Public License version 3.0.
