Keysmith

Keysmith is a two-factor authentication code generator created by the KDE community, distributed under the GPL-3.0-or-later license. Designed to operate across both Plasma Mobile and Desktop environments, the software computes time-based one-time passwords to add an extra verification step for user accounts and services.

The application maintains local stores of authentication secrets, rendering unique numeric codes at regular intervals based on standardized hashing algorithms. Keysmith functions as a standalone client for handling TOTP tokens on Linux-based desktop and mobile devices, adhering to open specifications for interoperability with common online services.
