AsteroidOS Sync

AsteroidOS Sync is the Android-side companion for watches running AsteroidOS, the free-software operating system for smartwatches. The phone app handles the link between handset and watch, which is what makes the watch useful day to day: without a companion, a smartwatch has no route to the phone's notifications or its clock and time zone data.

The app's role is synchronisation and pairing rather than watch-face design or fitness analysis. It connects to the watch over Bluetooth and passes data between the two devices, so the practical requirement is a paired watch already running AsteroidOS; the app is not useful on its own or with other watch platforms.

It targets Android only and is distributed under the GPL-3.0-or-later licence, matching the licensing of the wider AsteroidOS project.
