gPodder-adaptive

gPodder-adaptive is a media aggregator and podcast client from The gPodder Team, distributed under the GPL-3.0-or-later license. It performs the same core task as the regular gPodder client — maintaining a list of subscribed feeds, checking them for new entries, and downloading episodes to local storage — but its interface is laid out to work on both handheld screens and desktop windows.

The adaptive layout means the window reflows according to the space available: a narrow phone-sized view shows one pane at a time, while a wider window can present more of the subscription list and episode details together. This makes the same installation practical on a Linux phone or tablet and on an ordinary workstation, without a separate mobile build.

The package described here targets Linux. Episodes are stored as files on the device, so available storage and the media components installed on the system both affect what can be kept and played back locally.
