このアプリケーションについて
gplaces is a client for the Gemini protocol that runs inside a terminal, with no windowed interface and no mouse input. It behaves as a line-oriented shell: a page is requested, its text is written to the screen or handed to a pager, and the links found in the document are numbered so the next request can be made by typing an index or a command at the prompt.
Because Gemini documents are plain gemtext rather than HTML, output appears as headings, quote lines, preformatted blocks and link lines, without scripting or embedded media. Requests are carried over TLS, and the client tracks the current host and path so that relative links resolve as expected. Prompt commands cover moving back through history, reloading a page, saving a response and following a URL typed out in full.
The package is built for Linux and assumes a user already comfortable at a shell prompt. It is published by Dima Krasner under the GPL-3.0-or-later license.
